Adding Subscribers

Create and activate subscriber accounts in Qserve.

Creating a New Subscriber

  1. Go to Customers → New Subscriber.
  2. Fill in the required fields (described below).
  3. Click Save & Activate to immediately provision the subscriber, or Save Draft to configure without activating.

Required Fields

FieldNotes
Full NameSubscriber's first and last name
Phone NumberWith country code — used for SMS alerts and M-Pesa payments
Email AddressOptional but recommended — used for invoices and account notifications
Connection TypePPPoE, Hotspot, or Static IP
PackageSelect from active plans — sets the speed, duration, and price
SiteWhich physical site this subscriber is connected to

PPPoE-Specific Fields

FieldNotes
PPPoE UsernameThe username the subscriber uses to dial in — must be unique
PPPoE PasswordCan be auto-generated or set manually
Static IP (optional)Assign a fixed IP from the pool, or leave blank for dynamic assignment

Hotspot-Specific Fields

For hotspot subscribers (as opposed to voucher users), you create a named account with a username and password that they enter on the captive portal login page.

Activating a Subscriber

When you click Save & Activate, Qserve performs these actions immediately:

  1. Creates the subscriber record in the database.
  2. Pushes PPPoE credentials (or hotspot account) to the MikroTik router over the VPN.
  3. Sets the account expiry date based on the package duration.
  4. Sends a welcome SMS/email (if notifications are configured).

Activation Date vs Expiry Date

By default, the package starts counting down from the moment you activate it. You can set a custom Start Date when creating the subscriber — useful if the physical connection is not yet ready but you want to pre-create the account.

Subscriber Notes

The subscriber profile includes a Notes field for internal comments (e.g., "Customer is on a building rooftop — uses 5 GHz link"). Notes are visible only to your team.

To import many subscribers at once, use Bulk Upload instead of adding them one by one.
